TIME IS
RUNNING OUT

There have been five main extinctions throughout the history of our planet.  Scientists are now confirming that we are entering the sixth mass extinction, otherwise known as Mass Extinction Number Six.

The five previous extinctions were linked to asteroids, volcanoes and other factors but Mass Extinction No. 6 is the result of one species — man.

is the result of human activity.

the FACTS

Wildlife across the globe is vanishing at a rate of 2% a year.*

This rapid extinction is blamed on habitat loss, over exploitation of resources, pollution and climate change.

Some researchers estimate there will be more plastic than fish in our oceans by the year 2050.**

The No. 1 cause of modern wildlife decline is habitat loss.

the video

Mass Extinction No. 6 was produced

using the stop-motion animation

of plastic animal toys to represent disappearing species while suggesting the diorama science projects students create in grade school with "natural habitats" of construction paper, tin foil and cardboard.

The DIY video style was influenced by the lo-fi sound of the witty soundtrack, the song "Mass Extinction No. 6," by the popular New York City roots-rock band Whisperado.
